Frequently Asked Questions
How early should I arrive before my appointment?
We usually recommend arriving 15-20 minutes before your appointment
time so that you could have time to go through our hair/make-up
styling area if you so choose.
Can I bring my pets?
Yes. We recommend that dogs be on leashes and cats or other smaller
pets be in carriers. We will have an animal station area set up
for you and your pet while you wait. Please be courteous of other
guests and carry clean up materials for your animal. Trash cans
will be available.

Is nude photography allowed?
Yes, certain photographers have agreed to shoot nudes but it must
be discussed beforehand so that we can make arrangements ensuring
privacy.
What kind of clothes should I wear?
Generally solid colored clothing photographs better in a studio
setting than prints or patterns. Certain colors may also look better
against certain backdrops. Please take note of the color backdrop
that your photographer will be using for guidance. If this information
isn't available, we recommend that you bring 2-3 different shirts
to choose from.
Will you have hair and makeup again this
year?
Yes, we will have hair and makeup professionals volunteering fro
this year's Shoot Out. Please be aware that due to the large number
of Shoot Out participants, hair and makeup sessions will be fairly
short. You should do your own hair and makeup at home and our volunteers
will provide "touch ups" and give you advice on what makeup tricks
will make your photos look even better.
How large a group can be photographed?
We recommend that the number of people and/or pets in a session
should be no more than seven.
What are some tips for getting the best shots
of my kids?
Make sure your children are in comfortable clothing, bring along
some of their favorite toys to keep them comfortable and occupied,
bring along some snacks so they won't be hungry and irritable and
pick a time of day for your session when they won't be too tired.
How will I amuse my kids while we wait for
our photo session?
The Light Factory staff and volunteers will be providing fun educational
activities for your children while you wait. We will have lots of
coloring books and for older kids we will provide hands-on photography
activities. For small children you might want to bring along a favorite
stuffed animal or toy.
What is your policy on re-shoots?
Due to the scale of this two-day fundraiser, it is impossible for
us to offer re-shoots upon request. Re-shoots can be provided only
in the event that digital files are lost or corrupted during transfer
TLF staff. Please note that we have extended each photo session
from 20 to 30 minutes. We believe that this will improve overall
quality of photo sessions by allowing photographers and participants
more time to get the perfect shot!
