Carl is primarily a portrait and event photographer working out of Monroe, NC.  Although having spent most of the last 15 years in the IT field, Carl has been involved in photography since Jr. High School when he and a friend mounted a cheap 35mm camera on a cheap telescope to take pictures of the moon. Carl spent his early childhood in Wyoming, but has lived in Charlotte most of his life. Carl received his formal photography training from the New York Institute of Photography and has been shooting almost exclusively digital for the last 5 years. This is Carl’s third year involved with the Shoot Out.
